Well, my bike pulled another one of the tricks the Savage is getting famous for. My shift linkage broke today. I'm looking into getting some stainless steel rod and the correct thread dies to permanently cure that problem, if it works, I'll letya'll know so your bikes can be fixed BEFORE the thing snaps. Riding home in first gear sucks (even just for a couple miles).
Suzuki QC let a batch of bad petcocks go out on 95 and 96 800/1400 Intruders. Any of your friends and family that own one need to get the thing checked out. The petcock will vent fuel when the lever position is changed (real petcock, no vacuum crap). Leaking fuel + hot motor = toasted rider.
The annual Mid-South motorcycle show is this weekend. If Cycle Shows is putting on an event near you, I recommend skipping it. Not worth the admissions charge.
Anyone thinking on making a trip to the area? Give me enough advanced warning and I'll send you info on road conditions, the 10% of memphis that is safe to go to, and how to get to Graceland if you're an Elvis junkie (although it is in a bad part of town, lots of drugs and gang activity around it).
Y'all keep it in the wind.
